Business Development Director
Howdy! Chris Gorman here, or if we were MySpace friends, “Stormin’ Gorman.” On the Hurrdat team, I serve as the Business Development Director, but I have an application submitted for Director of Beard Development. My job is to help new clients find solutions spanning social media, digital marketing, SEO, and a host of other services. I can also, upon request, offer free advice for a quick and delicious breakfast casserole.
Hailing from the West Coast (of Nebraska), I started my adventure in North Platte. My first lesson in marketing was from my parents as they helped me become the sales leader for our Mister Donut T-ball team. Although the marketing landscape has significantly changed over the years, the sales principles of exceeding customer expectations, product transparency, and company integrity have remained the same.
After graduating from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2005, I found myself moving to New York to be a tour manager for three rock bands on a nationwide expedition. Two months in a tour van and thousands of miles later, I landed in Husker country after the tour ended. Desperately in need of a job (and a shower), I began a nine-year career at a student loan company, Nelnet.
Transitioning from the heavily regulated world of federal loans to the fluid landscape of digital media is what excited me to make the complete career transformation. I feel truly fortunate to work for the great Hurrdat/B² Interactive team that exemplifies creativity, ingenuity, and energy. I look forward to the opportunity to both help our clients meet goals and potentially debate the best slice of pizza in town.
