Hello, I am Colin Ball, Digital Marketing Specialist at B² Interactive. I graduated from Creighton University here in Omaha with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with focus in News and Advertising and I was lucky enough to find my first job here at B² upon graduating. In the four years that I attended Creighton, I worked as an events coordinator in the Skutt Student Center and the Harper Center, where I oversaw a group of five students in large event turnovers. Along with working on campus, I also wrote for a sports blog for just over a year that is based out of St. Louis.
I found early on at Creighton that writing was something I had a passion for. I may not have been very good at it at first, but in four years, I’ve come a long way. At B², I work alongside Aaron doing a lot with SEO and interactive marketing projects for our local clients. Search Engine Optimization is an exciting field to be a part of because of how much it can do for business. Also, the fact that every day it brings on new challenges and learning opportunities makes me even more excited to immerse myself into it further.
Being a journalism major taught me many things. One of the major ideas that I took away from my news and advertising classes is that there is design in everything. Working here, I know, will teach me new ways to see design and new ways in which to implement good design. Anyone can have a design, but it all wavers on whether or not it’s good. At B², I can already see that it will be good.
Like many of the others here at B², I also have a passion for all things technology, especially social media. This wasn’t discovered until I lived with a guy who seems to know it all for three years. The growing passions I have for learning what more the Internet can do for big and small companies alike is what drives me every day. We have only begun to conquer the Internet because of its daily changes and innovations. With B², I hope to be an integral member of finding what more the Internet can bring not only us as a company, but to our clients as well.
Notes about me: unlike most of B2i staff, I did not grow up in Omaha. I am from the suburbs of Chicago, namely Naperville. I did not grow up a Husker fan, nor will I become one, even after protests by friends and college roommates. I grew up cheering for Purdue (yes, Purdue) and will continue to do so. Aside from Purdue, I do show my pride in being a Creighton alumnus and hope that some team will win the University’s first National Championship in any sport.
